Genesis…

“Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by. As some of you already know I have been blessed to have the powers to stop some very serious and evil people whom are negatively changing our health and destroying millions of lives.

Our new comic book series called The Adventures of Lila and Rugby is the first chapter of our new path to freedom which will bring about serious and widespread change for humanity. Of course we will mix action and heartwarming stories along the way towards our mission, but this is a long term journey that will inspire, and motivate, and celebrate our victories.

As a scientist I believe in the future of STEM and will do my best to empower children (especially girls) to get excited about science careers.  I am also uniquely qualified to battle the likes of the SciClan because of my experience and success as a chemical engineer.

As JFK once said over 50 years ago “The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it.  And, one path we shall never choose is the path of surrender or submission.  Our goal is not the victory of might, but the vindication of right; not peace at the expense of freedom, but both peace and freedom, here in this hemisphere, and, we hope, around the world. God willing, that goal will be achieved.”

Please take a look at all of my cool merchandise for sale like stickers, trading cards, autographed items, Lila Legos and more.  Will you join our team in this fight against evil?  With your support we can offer fun & excitement along with changing lives for the better…thank you.”

A Bold New Vision For The Next Great Breakthrough

Empowering Girls with a REAL STEM Superhero

Move over Marvel & DC, there is a

new REAL Superhero in town

The Need…

Superman.  Batman.  Spiderman.  Wonder Woman.  These and many other fantasy and make believe superheroes have been around for close to 100 years and their representative companies bring in billions of dollars.  There are movies, comic books, merchandise and television shows.  They offer a wonderful diversion to the many problems that surround us.  Overall they have brought us great entertainment and joy.  But, isn’t it time for the real thing?

Top Secret Kids introduces a comic book series with some new and real superheroes – Lila & Rugby.  We are an organization created to empower people to live extraordinary lives and achieve life changing results.  Lila appears at many local schools at no cost offering hope, inspiration, motivation and valuable resources in a kid-fun way.  She is a strong and bold superhero that can offer a deep personal connection that is desperately missing from society today.  She offers a positive message about healthy eating, simple fitness ideas, nutritional information, wellness programs and family activities.    She and her dog Rugby will also be exposing many of the real evil corporate villains that are destroying millions of lives.

There is a health crisis in America.  Most of us eat poorly, don’t get enough exercise and spend too much time in a sedentary lifestyle.  New statistics show that 42% of American adults (120 million) in 2023 have the deadly disease of obesity and another 35% are overweight which is costing America almost $2 trillion dollars a year.  While there have been plenty of temporary fixes the statistics worsen each year.

Top Secret Kids is a 27 year old science and research education non-profit organization that has worked hands-on delivering a wide range of customized and low cost STEM, wellness, cooking, nutrition and fitness programs to over 1.5 million children and adults locally and 40 million worldwide.   One notable pilot program achievement from the 2021-2023 academic years in the Boston area includes a 92% increase in desired fitness and health outcomes; a 64% reduction in electronic device usage; and a 78% decrease in obesity.

Smokey the Bear, Woodsy the Owl and McGruff the Crime Dog helped a previous generation with conservation, ecology and reducing crime.  Today, Lila’s mission is to empower young girls to be their best and to dramatically increase our overall health and well-being through a new national awareness campaign.  Individuals & organizations can support the future of wellness and fitness learning with this amazing opportunity to enrich and enhance lives for a lifetime.

From the Executive Director…

100 years of make believe…Day 1 of the REAL Thing!

When my two daughters were growing up they wished that there had been more female superheroes. One daughter liked the Pink Power Ranger and the other Wonder Woman but both of these characters had many obvious flaws.Even though these characters were violent and had killed many people they were the only female superheroes to choose from. They still bought their costumes for Halloween; they played with their dolls, and watched them on Saturday morning TV.Even to this day superhero females have minor roles and are more likely than not are relegated as a love interest or damsel in distress.

As my daughters got older they wanted a woman who had incredible powers and could save the world.Since their dad was a scientist they always wondered why there weren’t any female superhero engineers, architects, chefs, doctors, etc.Couldn’t, they wondered, there be a female archeologist who finds ancient cities and develops magical powers from thousands of years ago?Or, how about a story where a female doctor invents a special chemical that helps all of humankind? With Lila & Rugby we start to make some of those dreams come true.

There are so many reasons why female superheroes would benefit society. In a recent BBC study, most girls would feel more confident, capable, empowered, brave, strong, and inspired with a female that they could look up to and wanted to emulate.“I think ultimately the role of a superhero is an expression of power that is very important in shaping boys’ and girls’ ideas of who gets to inhabit the power situation and how,” Sarah Barnett, President of BBC stated.

The thing is, these big roles for women don’t only influence young girls, but they also have an impact on women in their twenties, thirties, forties, and so on. How about we start young and reshape what society thinks of girls accomplishing great feats. Why can’t there be a real relatable woman with real feelings and real experiences.

Being confident in one’s abilities from an early age can have a great impact on how women are perceived and strive in the workplace. It is not an easy change in personality when you are given a leadership role but Superpowering Girls suggests that by showcasing women in those superhero roles, we give little girls the advantage of learning to be more confident from an earlier age.

President of Women’s Media Center Julie Burton said, “We know that representation matters, as evidenced by this report. Our research found that female sci-fi and superhero characters help bridge the confidence gap for girls, making them feel positive and motivated.”

While there is a long way to go in bridging the gap between how men and women feel about themselves in relation to societies ideals and demands, it is important to acknowledge the crucial part movies and media representation plays, especially on younger generations.

The very essence of a superhero is that they are these amazing and awesome individuals who are using their talents to do good deeds and offer kindness for the world while at the same time bringing bad people to justice. Why should a superhero be any different because she’s female?

That can extend to career paths as well. Boys are much more likely than girls to express interest in STEM careers, perpetuating a gender gap in those fields. Burton argues that representation in media can help close that gap. “Part of the work is creating the imagination for girls in superhero and sci-fi shows that they can be leaders in STEM, they can be workers in STEM,” she said. “We have to feed the imagination that girls have an equal place to create and build and be part of our STEM present and future.”

Powering the Future…
